In order to maintain their competence through participation in technical committees of the European Cooperation for Accreditation, a group of MOLDAC assessors attended the meetings of EA Laboratory, Certification, Inspection and Communication and Publications Committees.
Within the meetings were reviewed drafts of EA documents for the next years, as well as specific issues regarding the implementation of ISO/IEC 17065 on “Conformity assessment. Requirements for bodies certifying products, processes and services'', ISO/IEC 17020 on “Conformity assessment. Requirements for various types of bodies performing inspection'', ISO/IEC 17021, “Conformity assessment. Requirements for bodies providing audit and certification of management system''.
Between 31.03 - 04.04.2014 under the Twinning Project “Strengthening the capacity of the Centre of Accreditation in the Field of Products Conformity Assessment of the Republic of Moldova“ a follow up mock peer evaluation (after the evaluation of April 2013) of MOLDAC was performed by EA peer evaluators. The evaluation was performed according to the procedures of the European Cooperation for Accreditation (EA) and aimed to analyze the results of the accreditation activity of MOLDAC, based on both self-assessment report and witnessed assessments and examination of documents and folders of accredited CABs.
Taking into account that MOLDAC submitted the application to the secretariat of the European Cooperation for Accreditation (EA) to become a signatory to the EA MLA, this assessment has followed the same path to go, both at the headquarters of MOLDAC and by witnessing at the CABs locations. The evaluation report noted the progress made by MOLDAC during the past year, the performance of its assessors, the structural and documents changes that demonstrate overall compliance with Regulation no. 765/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council, with ISO/IEC 17011 and other EA ILAC and IAF requirements. There were also identified some nonconformities and concerns on which MOLDAC will further work.
