One of the main topics on the agenda of the council meeting was "Draft action plan resulting from the MOLDAC application to become signatory of the EA MLA agreement".
In his speech, the Director of MOLDAC Mrs. Eugenia Spoiala, mentioned that on 18.12.2013 MOLDAC has applied to become a signatory to the Multilateral Recognition Agreement with the European Cooperation for Accreditation (EA MLA).
The steps that are to be taken (pre-assessment, assessment with witnessing, resolving the nonconformities etc.) usually lasts about 12 months, period in which MOLDAC will prove both its competence in accordance with ISO / IEC 17011 as well as competence the competence of accredited CABs in accordance with criteria set out in respective procedures.
To successfully pass the assessment by the EA team, the National Accreditation Centre has identified areas requiring improvement activities. The identification of the problems was made based on the simulated assessment conducted by EA assessors within the Twining project.
The Accreditation Council President, Mr. Valeriu Lazar mentioned the importance of making efforts to achieve the proposed action plan, such as signing the EA MLA agreement by MOLDAC to not delay and the activities to be carried out by the authorities and institutions (changing the technical regulations, ensuring traceability of measurement results, personnel training, etc.) should be prioritized and ensuring the permanent monitoring and reporting relating on their achievement.
The Council members supported the proposal for approval of the documents listed on the Council meeting agenda.
